I’ve seen a couple people note that the things Barney did to the Final Four on his list last night weren’t as bad as the things we heard the gang yelling out while playing “The Women Barney Has Tricked Into Sleeping With Him.” I agree but, since I LOVE that at least two of the girls were from past episodes, I don’t mind at all. If there’s one thing I adore about this show, it’s the continuity crack it provides us. Check it out…

Meg, The “Not My Apartment” Girl

Meg is from 3×07: “Dowisetrepla” in which Lily and Marshall are looking for an apartment to buy. Meanwhile, when Barney gets a key to the furnished Dowisetrepla apartments that Marshall loves, Ted gets on his case:

Ted: Barney, what are you doing? You can’t take this apartment from Marshall and Lily.

Barney: You think I don’t have any morals? I’m only pretending to live here so I can take this woman here, sleep with her and never have to see her again. I’m not a monster.

And, he’s not kidding…

Robin: So, let me get this straight. You just snuck this girl into some stranger’s apartment?
Barney: Yeah. And we spent the night.

[flashback]

Barney: Hey, look at you.
Meg: Hey. I’m wearing your bathrobe. I hope you don’t mind.
Barney: The only thing missing from that bathrobe are your initials.
Meg: My mom’s gonna be in town next week. Is it okay if she stays with us?
Barney: Only if she sleeps in the bed and I sleep on the couch.
Meg: You’re so sweet!
Barney: I love you. There, I said it, and I’m not taking it back.
Meg: Oh my God! I love you, too! I’m finally not the first one to say it!
Barney: How about you get in the shower and I will make us some waffles?

[Barney and Meg kiss, Meg leaves for the shower, Barney picks up his jacket and leaves the apartment, flashback to the present]

Barney: Works every time.

Anna, The tedmosbyisajerk.com Girl

Note: FYI, I checked that website in the middle of the show last night and I was getting a weird error. I wonder if it was just my computer/browser or if someone was busy trying to fix it before the end of the show?

Anna is from 2×04: “Ted Mosby: Architect” in which Barney tries to convince Ted that being an architect is an easy in to picking up chicks. It was the note I remembered… when Lily and Robin think Ted picked up a girl (Anna) at a bar and find out that it was actually Barney. They confront him while the girl is in the shower and then this happens:

Barney: And thus ended this chapter of “let’s pour our hearts out in the bedroom of Barney’s one-night stand.” Come on, let’s go before she gets out of the shower.

Robin: You’re such a pig. You’re not even going to say good-bye
Barney: I’ll have you know that I composed a lovely form letter for use in such an occasion.

[Barney pulls out a folded sheet of paper from his inside jacket pocket]

Barney: Just fill out her name.

[Barney grabs pen from inside jacket pocket]

Barney: Something with an A… I’ll just put “Resident.”

[Anna finishes her shower]

Barney: Go go go go.

[Barney, Robin and Lily run out of Anna's apartment]

And the last scene is Anna reading the letter:

Barney VO: Dear Resident, the time we spent together, however long it was. Meant the world to me. I would love to see you again but unfortunately I cannot. You see, I am a ghost. I can only materialize once every decade, on the anniversary of my death. I chose to spend my one day among the living with you, sweet Resident. Perhaps we will meet again, in another decade, provided you keep your figure. Until then, all my love from the beyond. Barney.
Anna: Barney…Who the hell is Barney?

Great, huh?

Now the real question is… were Kate (The “Evil Twin, Larney” Girl) and Holly (The “Stole Her Truck” Girl) from past episodes too and I just don’t remember them? Neither of those two actresses are listed as having been on the show before but that doean’t mean Barney hasn’t mentioned them.
