Battlestar Galactica 1/2
The Demetrius crew attempts a failed mutiny against Starbuck and Gaeta practically gets his leg shot off by Anders in the process. Starbuck then takes Anders, Athena, Leoben and Barolay (red shirt, anyone?) with her to find what’s left of the insurgent base ships and to talk to the Hybrid. Onboard a badly damaged base ship, the Eights approach Athena about leading a revolution against the Sixes. Athena is disgusted and chides them for being cut and runners. Anders considers furtively communicating with the base ship through the multi-colored water/light panel, but is interrupted before he can try. Six accosts Barolay about an incident on New Caprica in which Barolay killed her, and Six returns the favor. To prove their loyalty and save their precarious alliance, another Six first kisses her and then kills her out by pulling the trigger on the gun Anders already has aimed at her head. With no resurrection ship nearby, it’s a real and meaningful death. Starbuck listens to the Hybrid babble for a few minutes, but can’t make any sense of it. Eight begins to unplug the Hybrid which sends the Hybrid to wailing and a centurion kills the Eight. The Hybrid then declares, “Thus will it come to pass. A dying leader will know the truth of the opera house. The missing three will give you the five who have come from the home of the thirteenth. You are the harbinger of death, Kara Thrace. You will lead them all to their end.” Meanwhile on Galactica, Roslin bonds with another cancer patient who is on her deathbed. - G
