Look, it’s HBO Sunday! Well not quite, Fox is also previewing their remake of the Japanese gameshow Hole in the Wall tonight at 8PM. I’m just not so sure I can get into a show about, well, people trying to fit through a hole in the wall for money. It does look amusing but it’s just not my cup o’ tea. Still, if you’ve been waiting for it, your wait is over.
And here are the other shows premiering tonight…

True Blood @ 9PM (HBO)
The new HBO series based on the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris kicks off tonight. There’s definitely a mix of reactions out there to this new show. I haven’t seen the newest version of the pilot and I’ve heard that both it and the episodes that follow are better than what I originally saw. However, I have never been able to get into the books because something about Sookie rubs me the wrong way and I fear the same will be true of the series. I’ll be watching, I’m just not sure for how long… Nonetheless, since the people who have given it a positive review are people who generally like vampire shows, I suspect there will plenty of you who will suck this one up.
Here’s a look at to expect tonight: Across the country, vampires have “come out of the coffin” following the invention of mass-produced synthetic blood. In Louisiana, Sookie Stackhouse, a waitress with telepathic abilities, falls under the spell of sexy, 173-year-old vampire Bill Compton – whose thoughts she can’t read. After saving Bill from the Rattrays, a pair of ruthless “vampire drainers,” Sookie tests the limits of Bill’s gratitude when the two are left alone in the dark. Meanwhile, Sookie’s best friend Tara goes to work for Sam Merlotte at his bar and grill, while Sookie’s roguish brother Jason finds himself in hot water when a “fangbanger” with whom he’s been intimate meets a tragic end.

Entourage @ 10PM (HBO)
I don’t watch this show, having never been able to get into it, but I haven’t seen a lot of love for tonight’s all new episode. However, most do seem happier with the second episode of the new season. If you’d like to hear more about both, check out GMMR’s fairly non-spoilerish review.
In the meantime, here is what’ll be happening tonight: In the fifth-season premiere, Eric and Ari deal with the fallout from “Medellin”‘s wretched reviews while Vince and Turtle lay low in an undisclosed tropical paradise, and Drama continues his long-distance romance with Jacqueline, but turns into a diva during a “Five Towns” photo shoot.

Yay True Blood! It makes me terribly sad I don’t have HBO, but still am excited about seeing it someday. Looks awesome! And the show’s creator, Alan Bell, did a great job with things like Six Feet Under…only gives me more hope for True Blood
